What are your telephone menu options?

During office hours, we try to provide “live” customer service. If you do get our on-hold recording or menu option, all operators are busy and will be with you as soon as possible.

How do I reach a doctor after hours for an emergency?

You can reach the physician on call through Medlink by dialing 512-663-6374.

I called to talk to a physician or nurse. Why do you take a message and call me back?

If our phone triage line is busy, we will offer to call you back. However, we always try to address your concerns when you call.

I need my prescription refilled. What do I do?

The quickest way to obtain a refill is to have your pharmacy send us a refill request.

What hospitals does Dr. Jukes use?

St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, Westlake Hospital, Baylor Scott and White Hospital Lakeway, Seton Main, Seton Southwest. She also utilizes Stonegate and Arise Surgery Centers.

I am interested in BioTE® bio-identical hormone pellet therapy- how do I get started?

You would need to schedule a hormone consultation visit with one of our providers. We will review your health history and evaluate if you are a candidate for this treatment. Some lab work will also be ordered. Patients are also required to have an annual/physical exam, and for women; a mammogram every 12 months in order to receive hormone treatments.

Is Dr. Jukes board certified?

Yes, by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

I need to send a copy of my medical records to my Primary Care Physician, what do I do?

Please complete and send us a signed Authorization Request for Medical Records – this form is available under Patient Forms.

What laboratory do you use?

Our primary laboratory is Clinical Pathology Labs, but we are mindful of other labs required use by your insurance company. If you have a preferred lab, please tell us so we may note it in your chart and ensure that your labs go to the appropriate place for processing.

When will I get my laboratory/diagnostic imaging results?

It can take up to 2 weeks to receive the results. Results are considered “normal” will be posted to your patient portal upon receipt.

Where should I get a mammogram?

We generally send mammogram orders to Austin Radiological Association due to their multiple locations and accessibility.

Can I get an order to have my lab work and mammogram done before my annual exam so we can discuss results at my appointment?

We prefer to give you your mammogram and lab orders at your annual visit. Your exam and our discussions during your annual exam will define what type of mammogram and lab work you need.

Can I schedule an appointment online?

Yes, you may, but due to the many variables including location, provider and type of appointment needed, it is most efficient to call our office to schedule your visit. Please have your information ready when you call.

Do you offer ultrasounds in your office?

Yes, we can perform ultrasounds in our office.

What is a Nurse Practitioner (NP)?

A nurse practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse and a type of mid-level practitioner. NPs are trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, formulate and prescribe treatment plans. A nurse practitioner is a physician extender- they work very closely with Dr. Jukes.

Can I email a medical question directly to my physician?

You can send questions through our patient portal, and answers will be provided there as well. It is a great way for us to communicate.

How do I access the Patient Portal?

When you check-in for your first appointment, we will enable the portal for you. After your visit, you will receive an email with your username, password, and link to the portal. If you have any issues accessing the portal, please call our office and we can reset your credentials.

What about parking near your building?

Parking can be challenging on some days here in the Medical Center. If you cannot find a spot near our office, there is a shuttle that can bring you to us and drive you back to your car. The “Courtesy Shuttle” is a man in a golf cart that offers rides to and from your building and car here in Westlake. He is available Monday thru Friday 8 am – 4 pm. If the patient needs a ride- they can call him directly at 512-645-5311.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We are in-network with most commercial plans. We are considered out-of-network with all exchange plans, all HMO’s and Medicare.
